Martindale Electric has recently introduced its new CB12 checkbox which has been designed to check the calibration of continuity and resistance ranges of insulation testers and multi-meters.
The CB12 features only one connection for test leads, with 12 different insulation ranges being selected using the rotary dial. This eliminates any possibility of leads being inserted into the incorrect socket and ensures quicker test times. For increased accuracy a Production Verification Certificate is included, giving the actual measured values of the unit.
Housed in an impact resistant case, the CB12 is small enough to be used on-site, enabling instruments to be verified in the field.
Inaccurate test results can be worse than no test results at all because they could indicate that an installation is safe when it isn’t, so by checking an instrument regularly, contractors can verify that measurements taken are accurate.
