The West Country SPAR wholesaler, Appleby Westward Group Ltd recently appointed Power Control Ltd (PCL) as its main contractor to replace its existing generator solution.
Following a competitive tender process and working in close collaboration with one of its principle design and build partners PCL was able to offer Appleby Westward a full turnkey project solution. This included the demolition of the existing out building, which housed the old generator and the development of a dedicated generator compound, complete with a weatherproof and acoustic enclosure.
Three weeks prior to the commencement of the project Appleby Westward’s existing generator failed, leaving the company exposed. PCL responded very quickly and had a temporary generator sited and conducted a partial electrical installation within a week. All works surrounding the core project were completed on time and within budget.
PCL supplied a SDMO generator, which was chosen for not only its industry wide performance reputation but also its superior ergonomics, versatility and usability. The new SDMO generator was installed into the existing electrical infrastructure within the new compound, where all works were expertly managed by PCL and carried out by approved build contractors.

With a relationship spanning nearly half a decade, Appleby Westward was confident in PCL’s expertise from the offset. The company has a 30kVA Borri B8000FXS Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system which was supplied by and continues to be maintained by PCL.
