RS Components (RS) is once again a key sponsor for the Engineering Design Show and will be using the industry event to present its newly launched and free DesignSpark Electrical CAD software for electrical engineers.

The Engineering Design Show, which takes place 21st-22nd October at the Ricoh Arena’s Jaguar Exhibition Hall, showcases the latest technologies in action from the industry’s leading suppliers. It includes a premier conference programme, offers practical workshops and will feature an innovation zone for displays of cutting edge products and the latest in engineering.

Visitors to the RS stand will be able to interact with different zones. These will feature demos of DesignSpark Electrical, the latest addition to the award winning suite of design tools for engineers available through DesignSpark, an IoT zone focusing on advanced connectivity and driving down energy costs, and a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B zone featuring the latest platforms for the low cost computer.

Glenn Jarrett, global head of product marketing at RS, said, “We are delighted to be showcasing DesignSpark Electical at this year’s Engineering Design Show. We’ve worked with global energy management and automation specialists Schneider Electric in bringing this new software to electrical engineers. For the first time, fully functional electrical CAD that helps save time and money and removes barriers to innovation, is available to everyone at no cost through DesignSpark.com.”

Jarrett added, “The launch of DesignSpark’s free software for design engineers was incredibly well-received when we unveiled it just a few years ago. This latest addition to the suite of tools provides further support for engineers in the electrical and panel building fields. The initial feedback we have had has been very positive and we look forward to spreading the news and highlighting the benefits further at the Engineering Design Show.”
