A range of round cable entry plates have been added to the icotek range of cable and wiring accessories which can be fitted in both standard cut-outs or metric versions covering thread sizes from M32 – M63. These versatile products provide IP66 sealing, together with cable strain relief and are a cost effective alternative to traditional cable glands.
Designated as KEL-DPZ round cable entry plates, these items are available from M Buttkereit Ltd, and are suitable for a wide range of applications where speed of installation, combined with savings on space and materials are priority. There are ten plates in the range, each offering multi-cable entry facilities, for a cable range from 3.2 to 22.2mm outside diameter. The plates can provide high packing densities of up to 35 cables per plate, for wiring sizes from 3.2 to 6.5 O/D. Other round cable entry plates in the range cover varying combinations of both cable quantities (from 4 to 19) and cable diameters. The cable entry plates range in overall size from 44 to 75mm diameter and hexagon locknuts are also provided for positive clamping and IP66 sealing at the point of assembly in the bulkhead entry aperture.
Cabling can be completed within seconds, as individual cables only need to be pushed through the appropriate sized grommet which is preformed in the elastomer sealing plate. This action will pierce the thin sealing membrane within the grommet, which also then seals the cable to provide up to an IP66 rating of the cable assembly. A special fixing rib within the grommet ensures a centralised fit of the cable and ST plugs can be used for re-sealing pierced membranes where cables are subsequently removed or re-routed. The fixing thread frame features a 14mm length of thread and together with the locknut is manufactured from black Polyamide, with the sealing plate being elastomer.
The KEL-DPZ cable entry plates are designed for use with standard cables (i.e. those without pre-fitted terminal connectors), and re-routing of individual cables can be accommodated without removal of the fitted cable plates and without detriment to the cable sealing integrity. Further standard square and rectangular cable entry plates, are also available in the range. The KEL-DPZ 24 models cover cable sizes from 3.2 to 6.5mm diameter and can accommodate a cable density of 42. The KEL-DPZ-B cable plates cover cables from 3.2 to 16.2mm with a max density of 25. The KEL-DPZ-E can accommodate cable sizes 3.2 to 12mm with a max density of 21 cables.
All the KEL-DPZ products are self-extinguishing with a flame class UL-94 Vo, and are both halogen and silicone free. The generous operating temperature range is -40°C to +90°C (static).
