Hammond’s sloped top IP66 Eclipse stainless steel series gives additional protection for use in wet and dirty environments

Our 20-strong IP66 Eclipse stainless steel wall mount range are fabricated from 304 grade stainless steel, giving good corrosion resistance, excellent mechanical protection to the housed electrical and/or electronic equipment and protection against harsh, industrial environments

The top, which is sloped at 20°, adds further protection to the formed lip that exclude flowing liquids and contaminants by preventing water pooling and dust or other contaminants building up on the lid. A secondary function of the sloping lid is that it provides a convenient surface for mounting controls and other HMI equipment. The clean styling, with hidden full length stainless steel hinges and a choice of latching systems make the Eclipse an attractive option in any high-tech equipment installation.

The family is UL 508A Listed, Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, and complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, IP66.

The same sloping top design is also used in the HYW range, sealed to IP69 for use in applications where high temperature, high pressure water is regularly used for routine wash downs in food production and pharmaceutical manufacture applications.

Key features of the Eclipse ST SS Series

• 20 sizes from 480-406mm height, 305mm wide and 203mm depth to 1671-1524mm, 914mm wide and 406mm deep.
• The lid slopes at 20°.
• Formed from 2mm 304 stainless steel, with ground smooth Continuously welded seams.
• Door stiffeners are provided where required for increased strength and rigidity.
• A formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants.
• Door latches require the use of a tool to access the housed equipment.
• The doors can be easily removed for modification.
• IP66 sealing is achieved by a seamless poured-in place gasket.
• Integral studs are provided for mounting inner panel.
• A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure.
• Hinges, hinge pins and quarter turn fasteners are 304 stainless.

The IP69 sealed hygienic HYW range

The stainless steel HYW range is based on the same design as the Eclipse SS EJ family, but the top slopes at 25° and the removable gasket is manufactured in a hygienic blue silicone material that mounts around the entire door edge, allowing for efficient cleaning in hygienic environments.
