In today’s demanding environment that includes tight schedules, shrinking margins, and increased and ever changing legislation, it’s vital that electrical contractors operate as efficiently as possible. In our cover feature this month, Schneider Electric looks at the intelligent solutions that are now available to enable contractors to make this happen.

Also in this issue, and perhaps to tentatively usher in the summer, our fire safety feature consists of an Apollo installation case study at iconic cricket ground, The Kia Oval, in London.

Other features in the May issue include a look at enclosures and the choice available to suit modern electrical applications, plus some insight into the importance of the IP rating when it comes to enclosure specification. May also sees the conclusion of a two-part feature (with part one having run in the April issue), on the industry standards that have to be taken into account when modifying enclosures in explosive atmospheres.

Be sure to look out for next month’s issue which will feature the next instalment in our range of supplements – with this one focussing on cabling and cable management.
