Shaping the next generation of engineering talent
The Academic Excellence Hub at CWIEME Berlin is returning in 2026, as a dedicated platform for universities and organisations committed to promoting the many opportunities available in the field of electrical engineering to the next generation of engineers.
The Academic Excellence Hub brings academic institutes such as the University of Bristol, Zagreb University of Applied Sciences and Arden University of Berlin alongside organisations like IEEE Young Professionals Germany focused on advancing engineering education and outreach. The dedicated space enables collaboration between academia, industry and advocacy groups, creating opportunities to inspire future talent and strengthen the network of skilled engineers entering the sector.
The Academic Excellence Hub aligns closely with CWIEME Berlin’s Future Engineers programme.
The programme connects students and graduates with companies that are seeking upcoming talent. Together, these initiatives create clear pathways into the industry, supporting both career development and long-term workforce sustainability.
“Initiatives such as the Academic Excellence Hub play an important role in preparing students for the real-world engineering challenges they will face,” said Dr Anna Ermakova, Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol. “By engaging directly with industry, we can help students develop the skills, confidence and practical experience needed to succeed in a fast-moving sector.”
The Academic Excellence Hub forms part of the wider CWIEME Berlin event, in addition to other features such as the Innovation Zone.
