Successfully launched at a recent UK energy exhibition, the revolutionary Goodlight retrofit 2D lamp has been an instant hit. “Customer reaction has been phenomenal,” says Saima Shafi, Marketing Director of LED Eco Lights. “Our first production run of 10,000 units has been flying off the shelves and we’ve already commenced production of a further 20,000 lamps.”
Designed and developed to offer a unique ‘all in one’ single lamp solution, the new super bright 12W LED model replaces standard 28W lamps and is designed to be retrofitted into existing luminaires and bulkheads. This latest generation 2D lamp strikes instantly to full brightness offering unparalleled performance and allows control of lighting, where none is currently available. This is achieved via Goodlight Sense – an adjustable presence detection sensor that may be pre-set to meet different user requirements. Built into the body of the lamp, this intelligent microwave sensor may be simply set to operate at a range of distances up to eight metres whilst hold times up to a maximum of ten minutes may also be selected. Significantly, an integral emergency battery pack eliminates the need for an external back-up and ensures total reliability.
When first turned on, the new Goodlight 2D provides maximum illumination which reduces down to three watts (25%) at the end of the pre-set time if there has been no detectable movement within the installation area. However, as soon as someone enters the area, the lamp instantly returns to 100% illumination. This cycle of detection and dimming can contribute greatly to a significant reduction in energy costs whilst maintaining a minimum level of security or ‘comfort’ lighting, particularly for lone workers and other individuals, since no one has to enter any dark areas before the lighting begins operating.
“Our new Goodlight lamp is truly unique,” Explains Saima. “No other retrofit 2D LED lamp offers super brightness, presence detection, automatic dimming and emergency battery back-up within a single unit. Furthermore, for those applications where only some of these features are required, we can provide various models including the basic ‘lamp only’ version.”
In common with all products in the Goodlight retrofit LED range, the new 2D lamps offer a 50,000 hours lifespan and are covered by a five year guarantee against lamp failure. Providing super bright illumination of 104 lm/W, Goodlight 2D lamps are ideal for general lighting and applications in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor environments including social housing, car parks, hospitals, schools, colleges, offices and ‘back of house’ areas.
