Pump hire specialist, Sykes Pumps, has been awarded a two year extension to its existing sole supply agreement with South West Water for the supply of all electric submersible and surface mounted diesel pump hire.
Sykes Pumps has a long-standing relationship with South West Water and originally won a supply agreement for electric submersibles in 2008. When this was retendered in 2011, the company won a sole supply agreement for both diesel and electric pumps on a three year term with an option for a two-year extension. That two year extension has now been confirmed, making Sykes Pumps South West Water’s official pump hire provider until 2016.
The supply agreement is one of a number of similar arrangements that Sykes Pumps has secured with water companies across the country and involves priority supply of pumps and pumping equipment from across the Sykes Pumps range to both the water company and its contractors.
The pumps supplied under the terms of the agreement will include standard, silenced and super-silenced diesel pumps, electric and hydraulic submersible pumps, high head pumps and a wide range of hoses and accessories.
The equipment will be supplied on an as needed basis, offering a solution for any reactive requirement, planned maintenance or asset improvement programme as part of a service that includes site surveys, technical advice and priority access to Sykes Pumps’ team of engineers. Sykes Pumps will also provide 24/7/365 support from its depot network.
Commented Damian Hunt from South West Water: “As we continue to prepare for AMP6, ensuring that we have a reliable and accountable supply chain in place is vital. Thanks to the high service levels and excellent fleet availability that Sykes Pumps has been able to offer us over the past eight years, we can be confident that the company will provide the equipment and expertise we need, when and where we need it.”
