TÜV SÜD Product Service has launched its Global Market Access (GMA) service for UK manufacturers of electrical and electronic products which sell their products to multiple markets worldwide.

Country-specific standards give manufacturers the challenge of managing product compliance against diverse requirements. TÜV SÜD’s new GMA service is a systematic process that accounts for national compliance differences. Its experts establish a product development strategy that meets the regulatory and voluntary requirements of all intended markets from the start, to avoid costly product re-designs and unnecessary re-tests, while minimising time to market.

Jennifer Harris ,GMA project manager at TÜV SÜD Product Service, said: “The new GMA service will help customers overcome technical barriers to trade and open more doors to the global marketplace. There are a wealth of product testing and certification restrictions that are implemented by individual governments, and this complex framework is constantly evolving. Obtaining separate approvals for each country is time consuming and costly, so gaining advice from TÜV SÜD at the early design stages helps manufacturers to meet the requirements of all the leading markets of the world from the outset.”

With TÜV SÜD experts in more than 800 locations worldwide, manufacturers benefit from local knowledge to expedite country-specific processes and overcome language barriers. This, coupled with TÜV SÜD’s extensive product support portfolio, including machinery, medical, telecoms and consumer goods, delivers customers an extensive knowledgebase to streamline the certification process.
