Fluke has introduced three new rugged Laser Distance Meters, which deliver accurate, point-and-click measurements allowing for easy measurement of hard to access areas, like high ceilings, without climbing a ladder. The Fluke 414D, 419D and 424D distance meters are ideal for a broad range of building/construction, industrial, maintenance, and professional services applications. They all provide easy addition and subtraction functions, a Pythagoras function for height measurements, quick calculation of area and volume and all come with a 3-year warranty. The top-of-the range model also offers features which include an integrated compass which provides a “heading” for distance measurement; an inclination sensor which assists with height tracking, levelling and indirect horizontal distance measurement when the line of sight is blocked; and automated endpiece correction – when measuring from an edge or corner, a built-in sensor detects the position of the bracket and automatically changes the reference point.

The Fluke 414D measures up to 50m with an accuracy of ±2mm and stores 5 measurement results; the tripod-mountable Fluke 419D measures up to 80m with accuracies of ±1mm, offers a 3-line back-lit display and storage for 20 complete displays, and automated end-piece correction; the tripod-mountable Fluke 424D features a 4-line back-lit display with storage for 20 complete displays, measures up to 100m with accuracies of ±1mm, and offers a tilt sensor for hard-to-reach measurements, a compass, automated end-piece correction and corner angle measurement.
