Doncaster-based mechanical and electrical engineering firm, MechFS, has announced a move into Europe.

The family-run company has recently opened premises in Mannheim, creating a new firm, MechFS GmbH, along with an initial extra 15 jobs across both the UK and Germany.

MechFS has already secured multimillion Euro orders in both Germany and Romania and is in discussions with a number of clients about further projects in the European region.

Paul Sutherland, chief executive of MechFS, says: “The opening of a base in Mannheim marks a major milestone for MechFS and cements the first step of our European expansion strategy. We are really excited at continuing to integrate different cultures within the business.

“We work with a wide range of companies that serve the European markets, who are looking for reliable, high quality manufacturing and installation services on the continent. We’ve identified this need and worked with our customers to create a base in Germany that offers the same high levels of service and delivery that MechFS has built a reputation for over the last ten years.

“We are proud to be part of Doncaster’s engineering and technology community as we develop our local talent to meet a worldwide need, and we’re really excited about the expansion – it’s a great way to round off our first decade in business.”

With its head office in Beckingham, Doncaster, Mech FS – which employs more than 140 people – also has offices in Sheffield and Birmingham.

The company specialises in providing technology-led design, manufacture and install solutions – such as bespoke air conditioning, heating and plumbing systems – to the construction industry, working within the distribution and fulfilment, student and hotel accommodation, automation and retail sectors.
