Hastings-based cable management market-leader Marshall-Tufflex is celebrating after being named joint winner at the 1066 Business Awards 2015.

The awards, sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses, recognise companies in 1066 country (Hastings, Rother, St Leonards, Rye, Battle, Ore and Bexhill) which have grown through innovation, forward thinking and sheer hard work, contributing to the area’s prosperity.

Marshall-Tufflex was entered into the Large Business of the Year (50+ employees) category, taking first place. The accolade was presented to Marshall-Tufflex chief executive Paul Hetherington at a black tie event held at the Bannantyne Spa Hotel, Hastings, on July 10th: Mr Hetherington said: “I am thrilled and delighted that Marshall-Tufflex has been recognised in this way. The company has been committed to Hastings for nearly 60 years and is a major employer in the town, bringing investment and jobs to the area. It is also committed to supporting charities through a charitable trust and has donated almost half a million pounds over the last five years alone. Winning an award such as this is a team effort, so huge thanks must also go to our staff and shareholders for making Marshall-Tufflex the winning business that it is.”

An awards spokesman said: “The battle for judges to find those worthy top businesses across 1066 country was very exciting as they have seen many local companies grow and achieve so much over the past 12 months.”

All 1066 Business Awards winners are entered in to the Johnston Press South Business Awards held at The Grand Hotel, Brighton, in October 2015.
