In the March issue of Electrical Engineering magazine we’ll be looking ahead to Spring as we review the SustainabilityLive show in April and the Railtex event in May – both taking place at the NEC in Birmingham.

Railtex is the biggest showcase of railway technology and services in the country and will be welcoming more than 350 companies who will be taking part (full preview on page 38).

SustainabilityLive will be running a packed programme this year with three days of more than 35 free CPD accredited workshops and seminars for sustainability and energy management professionals (see full preview on page 37).

Skills and training is something that’s always been close to our hearts at Electrical Engineering and we are carrying a fascinating feature this month where we talk to Gordon Mizner, chief executive of education charity EDT, who argues that engineering companies cannot afford to miss out on the opportunities that programmes like the Engineering Education Scheme (EES) offer to overcome the effects of the impending skills gap (page 32).
