To help panel builders to reduce design and engineering time, cut labour costs and meet new IEC regulatory requirements, Schneider Electric has extended its Prisma Plus P range to offer a new, pre-assembled LV switch panel.

The Prisma Quick Connect is an IEC 61439-2 verified solution which can be specifically built to the customer’s own specification. It includes horizontal busbars up to 3,200A – a cubicle with the air circuit breaker incomer already coppered for final connections. The outgoing moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs), mounting plates, front plates, outside cladding and Form 4 partitioning are also already fitted.

To complete the partially built Prisma, the panel builder simply needs to organise and fit any metering and current transformers, complete the flexible connections between the ready fitted MCCBs and busbars, and undertake the standard three routine tests. The solution is then ready to be installed into the customer’s premises.

The Prisma Quick Connect comes with dedicated software that provides full parts and layout drawing and its almost ready-made set-up means that those new to specifying Prisma can match the customer’s specification and comply with the new IEC standards. It can be upgraded to Form 4 Type 6 on request and is 50kA tested for peace of mind.

Paul Humphrey from Schneider Electric commented, “The Prisma Quick Connect has been designed at a time when panel builders face pressure to deliver cost effective switchgear in an ever shortening turnaround. With workshop space at a premium, the new Prisma helps to free-up the shop floor and reduce waste as the product is pre-built to exact requirements.”
