Glass reinforced polyester (GRP) is a strong, light weight and easily modified enclosure material. It is an ideal material for many applications, particularly those that are weight or corrosion sensitive

GRP is a strong, light weight and easily modified enclosure material. It also offers other specific benefits: it is non-magnetic, non-conductive, transparent to electromagnetic radiation, fire retardant and corrosion resistant. For many applications, particularly those that are weight or corrosion sensitive, it is an ideal material for the housing of instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control units, electrical junction boxes or terminal wiring assemblies. GRP is ideal for outdoor environments as it maintains its structural strength in both high and low temperature environments.

Our most popular families are the wall mounted PJU and PJ, which come in a wide range of sizes and multiple options of lids and closure mechanisms. The heavy-duty thick wall 1590ZGRP and 1590ZGRPBK are also produced in many different sizes. All are rated IP66, NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and are UL Listed. The operating temperature range for our PJU and PJ families is -40°C to 130°C, for the 1590ZGRP the recommended operating temperature range is -40°C to 120°C and for the 1590ZGRPBK it is -40°C to 100°C.
