Our EJ family is extensive, both in the number of standard sizes and the enclosure material: versions are available in stainless steel, aluminium and painted mild steel

Each material offers specifiers a choice of impact resistance, weight and corrosion resistance at different price points. The three different materials enable the best range to suit the application and the installed environment to be chosen.

The painted mild steel versions are UL Listed and conform to NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66 environmental protection. They are designed for a wide variety of applications: to house electrical and/or electronic equipment and for installation in harsh industrial environments. They are typically used as instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes or terminal wiring enclosures. There are 28 standard sizes in the family, ranging from 102mm x 102mm x 76mm to 406mm x 356mm x 254mm.

  • The cover has a full height 304 stainless steel hinge that provides 180° opening for easy access
  • The standard closure is a quarter turn latch that requires a tool to operate it, preventing casual unauthorised access
  • An optional padlock adaptor kit (shown above) is available to give greater security
  • The cover and enclosure body are finished with powder coat inside and out
  • There is a choice of ANSI 61 smooth grey or RAL7035 textured light grey colour
  • The units are fitted with full width welded mounting plates top and bottom
  • All sizes except the smallest are complete with a removable 2mm unpainted galvanised steel inner panel
  • A seamless poured in place gasket gives the environmental protection level
  • Complies with IEC 60529 IP66
  • Complies with NEMA 3R, 4, 12 and 13
  • UL and CSA Listed 
  • A bonding stud is fitted to the door and a grounding stud is provided on the enclosure
  • Suitable for installation in indoor harsh environments or outside
