Integrating around 150,000 pieces of manufacturer created component and device data, the EPLAN solution helps to reduce project drafting and documentation by between 50-80% by enabling users to easily select and apply the data or components required during a project.
EPLAN performs research and assembly functions automatically and instantaneously – compiling schematics, wiring lists and reports from data, which only needs to be entered once. By using single data entry the risk of errors (as well as the need to error check entire projects), is largely eliminated.
EPLAN is database driven and schematics are built up using intelligent symbols and component representations containing all relevant technical information and, as a component is inserted into a schematic, all lists and documentation are updated and cross linked.
The scope of device data and components that can be accessed via EPLAN’s database is extensive and includes macros of sub-circuits, assembly drawings, function templates for an intelligent device selection, international designations, preview images and entire manuals.
The database also contains every type of component from the IEC symbol library. Intelligent macros can be created that allow common sub-assemblies like motor drives to be inserted into projects within seconds, generating all wire and terminal numbering and simplifying production of product variants.
