Riverbank House in the City of London, the new headquarters for the global alternative investment manager, Man Group, and provider of 29,000m2 of office space in the capital’s busy financial district, has installed the Metalynx armoured structured wiring system from Wieland to enable fast connection of lighting, small power and fan coil units.
Use of Wieland’s Metalynx structured wiring facilitated fast installation as many of the connections could be made off-site and simply plugged in on-site. With over 6,500 light fittings and 800 fan coil units to connect, the ‘plug and play’ functionality of the Metalynx system proved invaluable.
Much of the office space is column-free open plan so control of the lighting is important to prevent energy being wasted. Consequently all of the lighting is controlled through a DALI network and the control cabling was integrated into the Metalynx system, again saving time on-site.
