Dataracks, a UK provider of bespoke racks and aisle containment systems, is celebrating after receiving a prestigious accolade at the DCS Awards 2014. The company beat off competition to secure the Datacentre Cabinets and Racks Product of the Year Award for its 303 Eco range of 19-inch cabinets, racks and frames.
Now in their fourth year, the DCS Awards celebrate those companies operating in the data centre sector by recognising the achievements of end users, manufacturers and suppliers. Hosted by Angel Business Communications, the 2014 event took place on the 15th May at the stunning Millennium Hotel in London’s Mayfair, where data centre and IT leaders gathered to celebrate the successes of the sector over the last 12 months.
With a significant increase in this year’s overall nominations and votes, competition was fierce. Accepting the Datacentre Cabinets and Racks Product of the Year Award, Dataracks’ founder and managing director, Jeremy Hartley, commented, “We are dedicated to ensuring that the build quality and engineering of our products meets the highest possible standards, reflecting the important roles they play in safeguarding customers’ equipment in the most energy efficient ways possible. The 303 Eco range exemplifies this ethos.”
The 303 Eco range was developed following customer consultation and incorporates a plethora of design features that maximise airflow, support free air cooling, and meet the best practice recommendations of the EU Code of Conduct on
Energy Efficiency. Other attributes include vented steel doors, light paint colour for energy efficiency and safety, integral
airflow management, and removable side doors and top covers for easy access to equipment.
The Datacentre Cabinets and Racks Product of the Year Award wasn’t the only accolade bestowed upon Dataracks on the night, as the company’s Active Roof system for aisle containment was named runner up in the Datacentre Fire/Safety/Lighting Product of the Year Award. Designed to aid the protection of equipment used within aisle containment, it can be activated by the data centre’s fire detection system, whereby it automatically opens to allow fire suppression water mist or gases to penetrate the aisle. It accepts a variety of inputs, thereby ensuring that it is compatible with all leading fire alarm systems.
