A new range of waterproof connectors, suitable for LED lighting applications, has just been released to the UK market by Selwyn Electronics. Kent based connector specialist Selwyn Electronics introduced this new range to their customers earlier this year and are now finding massive interest due to the low cost, quality and range of sizes and options available in this range.
These connectors, which are predominantly circular connectors , are available in 5 different sizes, with push lock, bayonet and screw locking styles. With IP67 and IP68 levels of protection, these connectors will withstand from 2 through to 50Amps. With options such as reverse gender, pcb mount, solder and screw terminals this is a very flexible and versatile range.
The cable mounted connectors are not only available for field installation but moulded versions to custom lengths are available too.
In addition to the single connectors, there is also a moulded distribution system which allows up to 6 push lock connectors to be plugged into the same supply. All versions are available in custom cable lengths.

This range of connectors has already been successfully used in LED display panels, LED tube and spot lighting, LED street lighting, LED floodlights and LED power supplies and drivers, the biggest installation so far was for displays and lighting systems at the Beijing Olympics. In the waterproof range of connectors there are also RJ45, D-Type, USB and HDMI versions available.
