quicklightAs the daylight hours get shorter and shorter, lighting maintenance service provider Quicklight has urged businesses in the UK to check their lighting is adequate before it gets too dark.

“Every year it’s the same,” explained Andy Cole, director at Quicklight. “The clocks go back and facilities managers find their premises in early evening darkness. It’s at this point they realise lamps need replacing and that’s when our phone starts ringing.”

Last year Quicklight saw enquiries increase by 40% at the end of October. To avoid the annual rush, Quicklight recommends that lighting levels are checked on a regular basis throughout the year.

“It’s always surprising how many businesses put off having their lights replaced or leave it until the last minute,” said Cole. “Sometimes businesses find it so dark it becomes a health and safety issue or that productivity is affected.”

Quicklight’s lighting maintenance solution is designed for busy facilities managers with many services to look after. The company sends qualified engineers to its customers’ sites, anywhere in the UK, every eight weeks, to change any lamps and fittings that have failed.
