An energy-saving night orientation light with an integrated occupancy sensor has been introduced to the UK market by lighting controls specialist B.E.G.

The B.E.G. Luxomat Indoor 140-L can be used as either a night light and guide light by simply selecting the desired brightness via a pushbutton and is ideal for the illumination of corridors.

Designed with two powerful and dimmable LEDs as a downlight, the Luxomat is the first product of 2015 to be released by German building automation manufacturer B.E.G which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

The night light can be used in a hotel, for example, as a constant light for illuminating corridors in the dark. By individually setting the light threshold for each light scene, the occupancy sensor can automatically switch on the required brightness for switching the light on at nightfall and switching it off during the day.

The orientation light is brighter than the night light and can be switched as an alternative to the main light and is excellent for hospitals offering substantial energy cost-savings. When motion is detected the guide light is switched on instead of the main lights. By pressing the pushbutton, the main light can be switched on and it will then automatically switch off after a pre-determined lag time.

The occupancy sensor of the Luxomat can also switch the main light on instead of the orientation light if motion is detected which can be manually switched off again by pressing the pushbutton.

B.E.G. sales director for UK & Ireland Paul Jones said: “The 140-L is a fantastic addition to the B.E.G. Luxomat range and once again highlights the company’s continued commitment to providing new energy-saving lighting solutions in its 40th year in business.”
