At the recent International Firex exhibition in May, Kentec Electronics introduced its new Taktis system that has been designed to enhance power flexibility and performance, and to add value to system designer, integrator, service provider and the end user.

The system was initially configured as a fire detection and alarm system. However, the flexibility of the Taktis platform is such that it can be re-configured to realise many other control and indication applications, with direct integration into intelligent buildings.

There is much market demand for this kind of concept, particularly the integration of services and interrogation of intelligent buildings, supported by the capability to remotely access and comprehensively manage any system using intelligent analysis of data gathered.

Kentec claim that remote analysis via Taktis can reduce fault call-outs, improve servicing regimes, provide more effective maintenance, reduce unwanted alarms and improve overall service for system management.

The Taktis offering includes Taktis Fire, a new range of fire detection control equipment, Taktis Vision, a configurable touch screen repeater panel, and Taktis Virtual Resource, a suite of software tools designed to assist with system management.
