Zigor to add extended run-time batteries options to Tiber range

Global uninterruptible power supply leader Zigor has announced it will be expanding the Tiber On-Line UPS range in the New Year with extended run-time battery options.

The 2U rack/tower Zigor Tiber series currently provides up to ten minutes back-up time when operating at full load from its internal batteries.

However new external battery packs set to be released in 2013 will give the new Tiber models the ability to increase run-time to several hours depending on the appliance requirement and type of load the UPS supports.

Launched in the United Kingdom in May 2012, the Tiber uses double conversion technology with two inverters to provide perfect clean sine wave power at all times without using the battery unless the mains fails.

Available from 1kVA up to 3kVA the Tiber can be floor or rack mounted with an LCD that provides information about input and output voltages, plus load and battery charge status. The UPS is ideal for backing up an individual server, network racks or telephone switch board systems.

The Zigor product also boasts an optional SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) interface card for securing monitoring of the UPS which informs users of problems when they occur.

Reviewer Dave Mitchell recently described the Tiber in the latest issue of PC Pro as a “low-cost On-Line UPS well suited to protecting critical systems’ and gave it 5 out of 5 for value for money.

Gavin Banks, Sales Manager at Zigor UK, said: “The Zigor Tiber has been hugely popular with customers since its launch six months ago. The new extended battery run-time options in 2013 will provide businesses with even more confidence that their data will be protected in the event of a power failure.”

The Zigor Tiber 1kVA starts at £450 (RRP) and includes a two-year advanced replacement warranty as standard.
