North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust has recently selected data centre and IT infrastructure specialist, Sudlows, to design and build a data centre facility based at the trust’s new headquarters.
The project will deliver a brand new data centre and external plant to facilitate the relocation of the trust to its new headquarters. In line with server requirements, the facility will also be fitted with an efficient Fresh-Air cooling system that will significantly reduce the trust’s total energy costs.
North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust is a provider of mental health, specialist learning disability and related services for people of all ages across a catchment population of approximately 457,000 people living in the northern part of the county of Staffordshire. The Trust has an income of around £83m and around 1,900 staff working as part of the trust.
Andy Hirst, global director for Sudlows, commented, “Working with the team from North Staffordshire Estates Agency on their new data centre has been an exciting project for the data centre team at Sudlows. Our successful track record and experience of delivering data centre projects on behalf of the NHS always comes from developing a close working relationship with the local trust. These excellent working relationships continue to inspire our technical staff to deliver a modern and efficient facility that will provide reliable IT systems in support of the Trust’s operational requirements.”
Richard McCue, network and systems manager for the North Staffordshire IT Service, added, “Sudlows are well known for their reputation as excellent data centre specialists. We look forward to working with them and to the delivery of an excellent and modern facility to enhance our operational efficiency.”
