The ECA and Edmundson Electrical have come together to honour the two best ECA apprentices at the 40th annual ECA Edmundson Awards.
Callum Taylor, 24, from Belper in Derbyshire, won Apprentice of the Year after completing his apprenticeship with Alan Belfield, and Gareth Morris, 30, from Caerphilly, won Adult Trainee Award after being nominated by his employers at Ayjay Group.
Callum said: “It is an honour for me to receive the award and recognition. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have had the best possible training from the team at Alan Belfield Limited.”
Gareth added: “The training and support I have received from the Ayjay Group has been first class and I am very proud to represent the company.”
Both winners were presented with their award certificates, a cheque for £1000, a tool kit and a sponsored study tour to Thorn Lighting in Austria by Gordon Love, managing director of Edmundson Electrical.
He said: “Callum and Gareth have demonstrated an unrivalled level of character and ability and are very worthy winners. We wish them every success with their careers.”
Steve Bratt, ECA Group CEO, added: “Our industry has a reputation for developing and nurturing high calibre talent, and Callum and Gareth represent the best of this year’s apprentices and adult apprentices. Congratulations to them both.”
