FOI reveals UK fire and rescue services adapting training to prepare for new safety threats According to figures released today by power management leader Eaton, fire and rescue services ( FRS) across the UK are introducing new training in line with the changing nature of risk today. Ellen O’Connor named Electrical Apprentice of the Year in the South East JTL has named Kent-based Ellen O’Connor as its Electrical Apprentice of the Year in the South East region. Lord Mayor opens training centre in York On Friday 18 October, JTL invited the Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Janet Looker, to officially open its new centre in York. Record number of apprenticeships to be reviewed in engineering and manufacturing sector The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education has launched a major review of technical education provision for engineering and manufacturing. A total of 59 apprenticeship standards will be under review with the Institute focusing on their quality and long-term validity. Recommendations will be published in Winter 2020/21. A public consultation has been launched as part of the review.
