Using an RCM relay to monitor residual current within an earthed electrical installation relies on the integrity of the Specification / Installer. Many products may not be suitable for modern installations as they cannot reliably detect the fault currents present in the system.
To meet Regulation 422.3.9 and 551.4.3.3.2: Installations containing UPS, VSD and other inverter based products, require the use of relays that are suitable for detecting Type B residual currents.
