Deliveries of Nexans optical Cables for the Nigeria-Cameroon Submarine Cable System (NCSCSC) to provide high speed Internet in West Africa have started. The contract was confirmed with Huawei Marine Networks (HMN), the turnkey contractor for the project.
Nexans units will supply more than 1,100km of the latest generation of Repeatered Optical Cables (ROC-2).
The optical repeaters were integrated into the cables by HMN at Nexans’ facility in Rognan, Norway. The cable design was designed specifically for this project, which will be completed later this year.
