Power management company Eaton has confirmed that counterfeit fuses falsely branded under its Bussmann business name have been sold by Poundworld Retail at Poundworld and Bargain Buys stores and through the chain’s Discount Wholesale website
Eaton said the packs of nine mixed fuses – Product Code: H-28570, Description: 9 Mixed Fuses Barcode: 5050577285701 – failed to meet the required safety standards of genuine Bussmann products and therefore these counterfeit versions represented a possible danger to property and serious injury.
Poundworld Retail has issued a product recall, and has urged customers who might have bought the packs of fuses to return them to any Poundworld store for a refund or exchange. Poundworld has since sourced genuine Bussmann fuses. No genuine Bussmann products sold through Eaton authorised distributors are affected by this notice.
