Rexel is helping its trade customers to manage the transition to the new 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, with essential guides and copies of the ‘blue book’ to buy in-branch from 2nd July 2018.

Although the new rules do not become compulsory for electrical installations until January 2019, by July 2018 – and the start of the transition phase – all Rexel branches will be a one-stop shop for installers looking to get up to speed with the latest regulations.

Alongside stocks of compliant products, Rexel will be selling NICEIC and ELECSA publications updated to the 18th edition including the official BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Regs Book), the Site Guide for Electrical Installations, the IET On-site Guide, the Inspection Testing and Certification Book, and the IET Guidance Note 3 book. These can be pre-ordered to ensure everyone is up to speed in advance of the new legislation becoming mandatory.

Peter Elliott, Commercial Director at Rexel said: “The update to the Wiring Regulations will be a big challenge for electrical contractors, and for many, it will be quite daunting. To help installers navigate the new regulations, our branches will be stocking all the literature they need to learn about what’s new and how to implement BS 7671 in practice, plus they will find a whole host of products which are compliant to make the transition even easier.

“All our branch staff are aware of the new regulations and will offer support as and when needed. It’s all part of our commitment to understanding our installer customers and ensuring we deliver the products and services they need.”
