Ideal Industries has introduced its new NaviTEK II wire-mapper and troubleshooter aimed at frontline technicians and IT professionals seeking a comprehensive yet cost effective LAN testing tool.

Featuring all the most advanced testing technologies in one handheld device, the NaviTEK II is a modern cable verification tool that benefits cabling installers and IT or facilities managers working in any enterprise, residential, campus or the industrial Ethernet environment.

By using one device to conduct active and passive testing across both copper and fibre networks, NaviTEK II provides a major cost benefit as it eliminates the need to purchase and carry multiple testers. At the forefront is versatility and ease of use, with beneficial features such as the Autotest function leading to increased efficiency by helping users to locate wire-map faults more quickly and accurately by testing via both pin and pair, detecting split pairs and identifying the distance to fault. In addition, there is the ability of Ethernet troubleshooting.

The NaviTEK II also offers further capabilities such as IPv6, PoE and VLANs, and includes user exchangable RJ45 inserts – negating the need to return the unit to a service centre, thereby maximising user productivity and reducing costly down-time. Additionally, the provision of Ethernet performance data means users can more accurately document results of tests undertaken by using the product to generate, store, view, and export reports for printing to ensure end customer satisfaction and payment.

Practicality is another factor. NaviTEK II features a durable rubber moulded design for robustness and longevity, options for either batteries or mains power, and a large brightly lit colour screen to enable clear display, and accurate reading, of results.

Guy Shackleton, European marketing manager for Ideal Industries Networks, commented, “The modern networking landscape is evolving rapidly, with the need for network professionals to be able to identify an even wider range of network and cabling issues over both copper and fibre. Plus, IPv6 addresses and PoE are becoming more prevalent.

“With this in mind, we have launched NaviTEK II which offers all the most advanced cable verification capabilities, ease of use, fast fault finding, and future-proofed against market requirements.

“Providing real benefits and a return on investment to the user, NaviTEK II is a solid investment and an essential tool for all network professionals.

“The launch also highlights a new approach by the company, that being that the engineering department has become far more user driven with a more commercial approach to technology and how products go to market. This approach focuses on the benefits of a product over just the features – asking what is the value of these new features to the end user – acting as the nurofen to the pain of installers.”
