Engineers involved with the use of variable speed drives (VSDs) in the building services sector can now get a free one hour energy efficiency seminar from ABB that counts towards their continuous professional development (CPD).

Accredited by the CPD Certification Service, the ABB seminar gives engineers an understanding of how variable speed drives can make a major contribution to improving the efficiency of HVAC systems.

Presented by ABB’s drives team, the seminar is available as a one hour lunch or breakfast meeting at the location of choice. It covers all the motors and drives aspects of HVAC systems, including traditional versus variable speed drive starting methods, variable speed drive installation and return on investments.

The seminar covers the importance of focusing on motors to save maximum energy, the physics behind energy savings and hints on how to identify HVAC systems that are ripe for using variable speed drives.

Engineers attending the seminar will receive a certificate as evidence that can count towards their CPD plan.

ABB also offer a two day training course which equates to 16 hours CPD accreditation towards attendees’ annual requirements. This course is normally conducted at ABB’s Daresbury offices but can be arranged at your own premises.

The ABB drives team can also supply details of ABB solutions and services to improve the efficiency of HVAC systems. The seminar offers the opportunity to get acquainted with ABB drive products.
