Hochiki Europe was proud to join industry colleagues at the grand opening of the Elevation Academy Training Centre in Leeds, a landmark moment for fire safety training in the north of England and a significant addition to the professional development landscape across the wider industry
Regional Sales Managers Mick Hall and Nicholas Brammall attended on behalf of Hochiki Europe, meeting with trainees, instructors and staff to mark the occasion and to hand out Hochiki branded merchandise and test products to those embarking on or continuing their journey in fire safety. Their presence reflected the value Hochiki places not just on the products it brings to market, but on the people who install, maintain and depend on them.
The Elevation Academy Training Centre will deliver face-to-face training to between 30 and 40 professionals every month, providing structured, practical learning for both new entrants to the sector and experienced engineers looking to develop their expertise. Based in Leeds, the centre is well positioned to serve the significant installer and contractor community across Yorkshire and the north of England.
The Academy’s current curriculum is already comprehensive. Courses include the Fire and Security Apprenticeship, Fire Training aligned to BS5839-1:2025, Fire Extinguisher training and the Experienced Worker Assessment, a particularly valuable pathway for seasoned professionals seeking formal recognition of the skills they have built over years in the field. With a pipeline of new courses also in development, Elevation Academy is clearly building for the long term and for an industry that does not stand still.
The fire safety industry relies on a workforce that is not only skilled but continuously developing. As systems grow more sophisticated and regulatory standards continue to evolve, the quality of training available to engineers, whether they are new to the sector or have decades of experience behind them, has never been more important. Through the Hochiki Training Academy, Hochiki Europe has long been committed to delivering exactly that, a comprehensive blend of online and in-class learning, built by industry experts and designed to prepare professionals for real-world fire safety challenges at every stage of their career.
That same commitment is what makes Hochiki Europe proud to support the Elevation Academy Training Centre. Initiatives that invest in people, raise industry standards and create clear pathways for both new entrants and experienced engineers are ones Hochiki will always want to stand behind.

“At Hochiki Europe, we have always believed that great fire safety begins with great people. Through our own Training Academy, we are committed to developing the skills and knowledge our industry depends on, and we are delighted to extend that commitment by supporting the Elevation Academy Training Centre. Investing in the people who protect lives is not something we take lightly.” — Shinsuke Kubo, Managing Director, Hochiki Europe
Looking ahead, Elevation Academy’s planned digital training platform presents a further opportunity to connect professionals with quality learning resources, and Hochiki Europe looks forward to exploring how its own online training offering can align with and support that ambition.
Hochiki Europe remains committed to supporting the people who protect lives, and to playing an active role in building an industry that is skilled, confident and ready for the future.
