Designer and manufacturer of electro-mechanical and electronic products for circuit protection, E-T-A Circuit Breakers, has launched a new compact high capacity DC Disconnect switch providing physical isolation for up to 1,500V DC.
The switch was originally developed for photovoltaic systems – to be fitted between solar power modules and the power inverter. The double pole E-T-A DC Disconnect switch can also be used in a variety of other DC circuit protection applications including ungrounded systems.
Measuring 99mm x 90mm x 92.5mm, the enclosure is DIN-rail mountable, and is well suited for installation in distribution enclosures. The hybrid technology requires no external power supply, allows reliable disconnection in the event of low currents and ensures a low wear contact system.
