eeIn today’s modern world, technology is such that consumers expect and demand instant and fast internet speeds, access to information on the go, (from any location), and at the touch of a button.

As these expectations in the consumer market increase, they are starting to be mirrored within the industrial sector, with an increased need for engineers to have access to information at their fingertips. As such, this month we take a look at some of the new apps and mobile technology solutions that are available in the electrical industry that enhances an engineers capabilities on-site and in the field (see page 32).

As well as all our regular features, the April issue will also include our latest supplement – Lighting & Lighting Controls. As part of the supplement CP Electronics will take a look at how performance and flexibility differs between wireless lighting systems, while Mark Salt, general manager of the Lighting Industry Association (LIA), answers some key questions that are impacting the lighting industry.

Other features included this month include cabling, hazardous area equipment, drives & controls, energy efficiency, plus we take a look at the future of funding for training in the electrical sector.
