The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) has inaugurated Phil Fagg, managing director of GW & E Wright, of Ashford, Kent, as its president for 2013/14 at the Electric Event in Birmingham.

Fagg is the 100th president of the ECA. His inauguration follows many years as an active ECA member in the south east at branch, regional and most recently national level, including posts as treasurer and chair of his ECA local branch in Maidstone and east Kent, and the ECA’s South Eastern Regional Executive Committee.

Top of the presidential agenda for Fagg is raising awareness of the ECA’s vital business services and helplines, highlighting new commercial opportunities for ECA member firms around sustainability and new technologies, and helping to find solutions to ongoing business concerns such as fair payment.

Fagg commented, “It is a real honour to accept this appointment. I know what being a member of the ECA means to me and the difference that it has made – and continues to make – to my business, and I hope to help other firms reap the rewards of membership, just as I have.”

Steve Bratt, ECA Group CEO said, “I am delighted Phil Fagg is taking on the role as president. Phil has been an active and valued member of the ECA for more than 20 years. His commitment to both the association and the industry will be of tremendous benefit to our members.”

Fagg concluded, “Service is at the core of the ECA. We are here for all of our members, whether large or small, as a powerful support network, a vital business hub and a virtual safety net to help them to prosper and develop.

“We provide all the tools they need to operate and run successful firms, as well as a forum to chat, to network, bounce ideas off and learn from other like minded people who are as passionate about our sector as we are.”
