Henley-in-Arden, UK, 02 April 2025 – Depotnet has developed a new app that automatically inserts Safe Dig Prints into digital job cards. Part of the Depotnet Utilities Job Management System, the software plug-in automatically sources relevant drawings of underground utilities based on the excavation location.

The development is the result of close collaboration with LSBUD (LineSearchBeforeUDig). Depotnet has been able to create a seamless user experience for requesting and receiving Safe Dig Prints directly through the Depotnet portal. Prints are received automatically from both LSBUD Members and Non-Members, with Member prints typically available in under 50 seconds.

Users simply enter their search criteria into Depotnet, and the unique API integration automatically identifies affected and non-affected Members in the area. Available 24/7, requests can be processed around the clock, saving time, improving efficiency and ultimately enhancing safety.

“LSBUD and Depotnet have worked closely together to develop a fully complete integration,” says Richard Broome, Managing Director of LSBUD. “This is big news for the industry, as it will streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ultimately provide a safer working environment for all those using the Depotnet portal, as well as protecting our Members’ assets more effectively.”

Depotnet offers two LSBUD integration options to its users – full and hybrid. The fully integrated option eliminates all administrative overhead for Safe Dig teams. The hybrid option, meanwhile, utilises the plug-in for administrative and automatable tasks, with customers’ own Safe Dig teams manually handling returned data to complete the process for non-automatable tasks.

Both options are simple to use; users just need to confirm LSBUD mandatory fields in Depotnet before automatically triggering an LSBUD request. Once Safe Dig Prints are received and complete, the documents are validated for Zone of Interest (ZOI) prior to safe release.

“LSBUD aims to reduce injuries and deaths caused by asset strikes, along with ensuring a prompt and accurate response to all enquiries. By being able to access LSBUD services directly through the Depotnet application, it is now much easier and quicker for our users to obtain vital Safe Dig Prints. This, in turn, will help further improve on-site safety for all of the field workers out on site using Depotnet today,” says Holly Dalby, Managing Director at Depotnet.
