Columbian towns reap the benefits of UPS technology

Feb 10, 2012 | UPS & Standby Power

Over 100 towns in Columbia have been provided with reliable internet access following the installation of Zigor’s Volga 2kVA model UPS. Zigor was appointed by the Columbian government as part of a project run by the Institute of Development of Antioquia – one of 32 states located in the central north western part of the country.

The aim of the programme was to increase the technological capabilities in infrastructure and to promote social and economic development. This included providing internet access via wireless networks with WiFi technology.

Zigor sales and marketing manager, Jesús Maria Eguiluz, said, “The success of this project was a result of great effort by all Zigor Colombia staff in providing the Colombian government with ready made solutions to solve their energy issues.

“Antioquia is a remote area and well known for its spectacular and complicated orography. It provided us with many technical challenges but we are delighted to have achieved all of our goals. Zigor is very proud to have been involved in such a worthwhile programme.”
