Knees take a constant battering on site, but Carhartt’s Steel Work Trousers are designed to protect them.

Made from sturdy stretch ripstop fabric with Carhartt’s Rugged Flex™ technology, the Steel Work Trousers are built to be both tough and flexible, suited to the demands of daily trade work

The articulated knees make it easy to bend, squat and kneel and reinforced high-wear areas mean the trousers stand up to repeated use on tough surfaces.

Each pair of Steel Work Pants has certified Flex Cordura™ fabric kneepad pockets that meet EN 14404-4:2024 safety standards. They securely hold compatible knee pads, including Carhartt’s Interoperable Knee Pads, providing cushioning against hard surfaces while helping maintain proper joint alignment when kneeling for prolonged periods.

The Steel Ripstop Double-Front Dungarees (105075) come in a relaxed straight fit with double front construction. This extra layer of fabric sewn over the front adds protection and cushioning and has openings for kneepads. The trousers sit comfortable at the waist and the straight leg opening fits easily over work boots. Practical detailing includes Cordura®-reinforced front ledge pockets, reinforced back pockets, a Cordura® utility loop and self-fabric kick panels that allow for alterations, helping extend their working life.

The range also includes the Steel Ripstop Double-Front Cargo Dungarees (105074), which add additional storage with a Cordura®-extended ruler pocket, a loose bottom pocket on the left side with a secure zip section, and a zipped leg pocket for a phone. The Steel Ripstop Double-Front Cargo Pants (105070) offer the same articulated knee design and certified kneepad compatibility but with multiple reinforced pockets for tools and everyday essentials.

With knees under constant pressure on site, having protection built into your workwear makes a real difference. Carhartt’s Steel Work Trouser range is designed to support knees where it matters most.
