Specialist resistor manufacturer Cressall has partnered up with Malaysian engineering company Swift Energy to bring greater manufacturing locality to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) regions. The partnership means drastically reduced lead times for Cressall products in the region

Swift Energy specialises in intelligent engineering solutions for the oil and gas, manufacturing and process control industries. The company exports to China, India, South East Asia, Japan, and Africa. These countries account for 50 per cent of the Swift Energy’s sales.

The partnership retains Cressall as the design authority and the source of the active resistor parts and components. Swift Energy will provide the enclosures – to Cressall design – and testing facilities at its ISO accredited local manufacturing facilities, before shipping to customers within the ASEAN region.

The partnership gives Cressall local support for sales and after market activities in the onshore and offshore sectors for the ASEAN market.

“The Cressall partnership with Swift Energy has been created to benefit the ASEAN region, by capitalising on a local build philosophy,” explained David Atkins, Projects  Director of Cressall Resistors. “Swift Energy products and the sectors in which it operates complement our own and, so the partnership will allow us to provide a complete service to customers in the region,” continued Atkins.

“We sell and manufacture power transformers that require the use of high neutral earthing resistors (NERs),” explained Bin Chee Tan, CEO of Swift Energy. “I’ve worked in this sector for 22 years and my experience tells me that Cressall’s resistors are the type of quality products that we’d like Swift Energy to be associated with.”
