- An increase in Covid-19 cases brings new restrictions to the UK, including working from home.
- Bradford manufacturer uses scientific research to produce an LED range that aids productivity
A Bradford based manufacturer has developed a new lighting range to improve productivity as many people return to working from home following a rise in Covid-19 cases, and subsequently new restrictions.
A sharp rise in Covid-19 cases across the UK means that many people are working from home again. Some fear working from home has a detrimental effect on productivity due to distractions. However, research shows that work efficiency and productivity are affected by lighting quality.
Statistics from research and environmental experts show that lighting temperatures comparable to natural daylight results in a clear increase in mood, focus, and productivity.
Nowadays, the majority of our work is carried out on a computer, which emits too much blue light. Combined with inadequate, dim lighting this can cause headaches and eyestrain. It also leads to drowsiness and inner weakness throughout the day, which affects motivation and reduces overall productivity.
Moreover, light quality during the day can impact the quality of sleep one receives when they turn out the lights. Poorer outcomes in overall sleep quality, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances have been identified, and even daytime dysfunction, which again can affect the individual’s performance and decision making the next day.
In response to the research, West Yorkshire based manufacturing and distribution company, Multibrands International has developed a new range of Supacell LED bulbs to help drive productivity during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
Researched and developed right here in the UK, the Supacell range has been designed using the latest technology for unparalleled performance and longevity. The bulbs come in a range of different colours. Fully dimmable, these bulbs come in an array of different colour temperatures to suit every need.
Enhanced with SMART capabilities, every bulb in the Supacell range can be scheduled based on physical parameters, for example, sunrise, sunset, luminosity, and weather; this guarantees ambient lighting throughout the day.
Each bulb is also fully compatible with Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant and has a specially designed Supacell Smart Home App to allows the user to control the lights and even set schedules and timers. The bulbs use up to 75% less energy than standard bulbs, making them cost-effective and don’t require any specific hub or fittings.
Headquartered in Bradford, Multibrands International was established in 1998 manufacturing and supplying a range of premium quality, own-brand, everyday FMCG consumer essentials including personal hygiene, and advanced LED household lighting solutions to leading wholesalers and independent buying groups worldwide. The company currently employs over 50 members of staff with additional administration and production facilities in India and China.
Rizwana Hussain, Sales Director at Multibrands International comments: “ I have always been conscious about lighting in the home. I feel much more motivated and productive when working in a bright room or natural daylight, so this new research does stand to sense.
“Our Supacell range was designed with this research in mind to help people work to their full potential during these strange, unprecedented times where working from the office may not be safe. As with all our products, we invested very heavily in the Supacell brand range, and the technology used is the latest on the market to ensure each product in the range is user-friendly, efficient, and guarantees longevity.”
