Bespoke Ellis Solution secures truly global specification

The latest specification success for cable cleat manufacturer, Ellis has demonstrated the truly global nature of its business – the Yorkshire company receiving an order from the Czech offices of ABB for an installation in the Philippines.

A bespoke variation of Ellis’ Emperor cable cleat was specified by ABB in Prague to secure electrical power cables throughout the San Gabriel Avion open cycle gas turbine plant, which is currently being built in the Bolbok area of Batangas City.

Tomáš Salon, a lead electrical balance of plant (EBoP) engineer for ABB, listed amongst the reasons for specifying from Ellis: positive past

experiences with the company, Emperor’s robust / solid design and the fact it was “easier to assemble than other similar products”.

Designed for use where the highest levels of short circuit withstand are required, Ellis’ Emperor cleats are available for both trefoil and single cable applications. All products in the range are manufactured in type 316L stainless steel, meaning they provide ultimate corrosion protection, even in the harshest of environments. The benefits of the Emperor cleats also extend to a patented design, which makes installation quick and easy, and an integral LSF zero halogen polymeric liner and base pad that protects and cushions cables during short circuit conditions. And as with all products offered by Ellis, bespoke versions can be manufactured to meet project specific needs.

Ellis’ worldwide standing is strengthened by a global network of dedicated local distributors. Currently numbering 30, the network helps ensure the Ellis name is at the forefront of specification consideration for virtually every major power, oil and gas, and infrastructure project, no matter where the location.
