Aggreko’s recently opened service centre in Nairobi was formally inaugurated by the Hon. Kiraitu Murungi, minister of energy, Republic of Kenya and Aggreko CEO Rupert Soames in a ceremony at the new depot.
The Nairobi facility is the sixth service centre in Aggreko’s Southern and East African network and is the first operation to be based in East Africa.
Situated within the grounds of Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the facility is strategically located to support industrial users in and around Nairobi as well as shipping, mining, manufacturing and agricultural businesses operating throughout the country.
Commenting on the new depot opening, Rupert Soames, Aggreko’s CEO, said, “Aggreko is highly committed to expanding our presence across Africa. The success of our operations in Kenya will act as a springboard for our continued growth throughout East Africa.”
“Kenya is a key strategic market for Aggreko,” commented Martin Foster, head of Local Business, South and East Africa. We take very seriously the development of our local Aggreko people. The long term success of our business is directly linked to a highly capable and well trained Kenyan workforce.”
