The new small size has been added to the 1554, 1555 and 1555F families. The 1554A, 52mm x 51mm x 41mm, is available with a solid grey, a clear or smoked lid. Its sister family with the solid styled lid, is also augmented with the addition of the same size, designated the 1555A, and it has also been added to the 1555F range, where a flanged lid facilitates mounting to a surface and the base is styled to accept membrane keypads and other components. The new smallest size in the ranges is in response to customer demand for more compact units that can be used in both indoor and outdoor installations. The polycarbonate (pc) 1554/1555 IP68 sealed enclosures are available in 33 sizes from 52mm x 51mm x 41mm to 300mm x 240mm x 120mm. The pc versions have cUL and UL 508A listing (File # E65324), and are tested to IP68 (NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13). The family is also available moulded in lower cost UL94-HB ABS, sealed to IP66 and designed for general purpose applications, primarily indoors.

 

The 1554/1555 key features

  • 33 sizes from 52mm x 51mm x 41mm to 300mm x 240mm x 120mm
  • The IP68 polycarbonate versions are cUL and UL listed and are tested to IP68 (NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13).
  • The polycarbonate versions are UV stabilized for outdoor use. The grey material has a UL94-5VA flammability rating, the clear and smoked lids are rated UL94V-0.
  • All sizes are also available in ABS, sealed to IP66, with a flammability rating of UL94-HB for general purpose indoor use.
  • The lid is secured with self-captivated M4 stainless steel machine screws, threaded into integral bushes for repetitive assembly and disassembly.
  • Opaque, clear, plain, smoked and recessed lids.
  • Optional 1.6mm galvanised steel panels for all sizes for mounting heavier components.
  • Optional kits of four polycarbonate feet.
  • Clear polycarbonate replacement lids are available as accessories.
  • Internal features vary with size:
  • Internal DIN rail mounting tabs moulded into most sizes.
  • M3 threaded brass inserts and/or standoffs for PCB or inner panel mounting in all but the smallest B size.
  • Vertical PCB guides in all but the smallest A and B sizes.

The 1555F key features

The 24 sizes of 1555F flanged versions feature styled recessed bases. They have integral flanges moulded into the lid, which when used to secure the enclosure to a surface also prevents it being opened without removing it from the mounting surface. There are 24 sizes from 52mm x 51mm x 41mm to 240mm x 161mm x 61mm.

  • The polycarbonate versions are cUL and UL listed and are tested to IP68 (NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13).
  • The polycarbonate versions are UV stabilized for outdoor use with a UL94-5VA rating.
  • All sizes are also available in ABS, sealed to IP66, with a flammability rating of UL94-HB for general purpose indoor use.
  • Designed for wall mounting. Access to the interior is secure as the lid securing screws are concealed.
  • PCB standoffs in the lid and base.
  • The lid is secured with self-captivated M4 stainless steel machine screws, threaded into integral bushes for repetitive assembly and disassembly.
  • Optional 1.6mm galvanised steel panels for all sizes for mounting heavier components.
